Rabbi Jill Zimmerman, M.Ed. brings a depth of experience and a warmth of spirit and soul to this position. Jill spent the formative years of starting her family and career in the Bay area and is excited to be back. Prior to accepting this position, Jill founded two path-breaking Jewish organizations – Path With Heart, and a virtual community, Hineni, which she will continue leading. She has grown these communities with a broad social media presence that is attuned to the salient issues of our time. Before beginning her second career as a rabbi, Jill was an organizational development consultant and trainer, specializing in group and community visioning. Jill was ordained by Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (Los Angeles campus) and is a graduate of several clergy leadership programs at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality. Jill has been a scholar at numerous congregations and served Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills as Assistant Rabbi, Director of Building Community and Membership. Jill is excited to bring her organizational development background and experience with a rabbinic sensibility to this position. She believes we are at a unique moment in Jewish history as we emerge from the pandemic and that we can chart a new way forward for Jewish life that is inclusive, creative, and inspiring. Jill is married to Ely, who proudly graduated from UC Berkeley School of Public Health. They have two grown sons and a precious doodle named Bo. She loves poetry, hiking, knitting, and reading.
