Rabbi Altshuler was ordained at Hebrew Union College in 2023, he previously worked as a teacher and journalist, including for JWeekly, the Jewish News of Northern California, and volunteered in San Quentin State Prison, and in Haiti. During rabbinical school, he was a Tisch Fellow and participated in fellowships with the New Israel Fund and Pardes Institute. He loves building connections across all ages and stages of life, and is especially passionate about Jewish learning and justice.

George lives in the Presidio with his wife, Kate, and their two daughters, Selah and Arden.
